Letting Go
October always reminds me that nature is our greatest teacher. The trees don’t fight to hold on to their leaves; they release them with grace. They let go, trusting that this clearing makes space for rest, renewal, and the bloom of another season.
In our own lives, letting go can be a challenging and daunting experience. We hold on to habits, commitments, and expectations, even when they no longer serve us, because letting go feels like loss. However, the truth is that every release creates room for something new to enter or to reignite a passion that has slowly begun to dwindle.
When we let go of what drains us, we regain the energy and space to reconnect with what fuels us. Passion is not something we need to chase; it appears and reappears when we clear away the clutter that dulls our spark.
This month, I invite you to ask yourself:
What am I ready to release?
Where am I holding on out of habit instead of passion?
What space could I create for joy and energy to return?
Any change takes energy, and sometimes even the thought of it can feel exhausting. That’s why the best place to start is with small, intentional steps. You might simplify one commitment by saying no (or “not now”) to something that drains your energy, or clear just one corner of your space to create a sense of ease and openness. You could give yourself a “should-free” break, doing something simply because it lights you up, or choose one walk, one class, or one practice this week that feels nourishing instead of depleting. Little shifts like these create the space for joy, energy, and passion to return.
Just like the trees, you don’t have to hold everything. Release what’s heavy. Make room for what’s real. Let go, and let your passion find you again.
