This Is the Pause
December has its own rhythm. The days get darker, the pace slows, and there's this natural pull inward. It's the one month of the year that doesn't ask us to become something new; it asks us to rest long enough to feel where we actually are.
We spend so much of the year trying to move forward, improve, and adjust. But let's let December invite a softer kind of practice. A pause. A letting-down of shoulders. A settling.
Maybe this month isn't about building anything up. Perhaps it's about putting things down. Expectations, pressure, and the need to constantly do more might be what's dragging us down, not the actual actions. Maybe it's about enjoying what's already here: the lights, the meals, the people you love, the small quiet moments that remind you you're human.
Movement shifts this time of year as well. In the studio, the work becomes steadier, slower, more nourishing. It's less about pushing and more about tending, breath, presence, and the simple act of showing up.
Let's make December for settling.
For grounding.
For letting your system recover from the year that's been.
You don't need to rush toward change right now.
You're allowed to rest.
You're allowed to enjoy this season before you begin again.
This is the pause before the next turn.
And it matters just as much as the movement that follows.
Wishing you a grounded holiday season!
With gratitude,
Elease and the MBDY + be. Team
